Ash

Support Worker

Hi my name is Ash! I moved to Geelong in 2021 to study at Deakin. I have since obtained a bachelor in psychological science, psychology being my main interest. I also love animals, connecting with nature, music, art, and spending time with my loved ones (including my cat). I have extensive lived experience with neurodivergence in particular, having been a carer for my mum and navigating the challenges that have come along with my ADHD diagnosis.

What has brought you to AmAble?
I am passionate about utilising my lived experience and educational background to support others in their independent living and improving their quality of life. I am looking forward to meeting a diverse range of individuals with varied experiences and building meaningful relationships with participants, getting to know their passions, interests, and goals, and helping to achieve these goals.
What's something interesting about you that people might not guess?
- I have dyed my hair every colour aside from orange - I can play the piano - I like to collect feathers - I know every line in the movie ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’
What's your favourite fun fact?.
I am a big fan of animal facts! Two that come to mind are that penguins mate for life and cows have best friends :)
What do you like to do when you're not working?.
I like to spend time with my family and friends, watch movies, make pottery, colour, write, spend time out in nature, and more recently I have gotten into reading.
If there was person that you could meet, dead or alive, who would it be?
My great grandma
