Ella

Support Worker

Hey there! My name is Ella. I come from a tight-knit family of four and have grown up, and lived in Geelong all 23 years of my life. I have two fur-babies called Olive and Cloud who I absolutely adore and also have a younger sister. For the past couple years, I’ve been busy flipping and serving burgers at Grill’d, whilst also studying (and more recently graduating from) a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at Deakin. I am someone who loves being active and outdoors, as well as spending time with the people I love. I am a huge animal lover and a person who appreciates the simple pleasures in life, whether that means going for a walk in nature, watching a movie or doing something artsy and creative. I am a keen learner and am always open to trying new things!

What has brought you to AmAble?
Alongside wanting to gain experience in the community sector, I've always wanted to be involved in work that primarily helps people in a meaningful way. I am eager to learn and be more educated about neurodiversity and disabilities, and make a real difference in helping young people feel more confident and capable in all they do (whilst having fun too!). I can't wait to meet all the participants, as well as learn about their passions and interests, and help them achieve their goals in a way that works best for them.
What's something interesting about you that people might not guess?
- I can wiggle my ears on command - I used to play representative basketball for 7 years - I have Polish and Italian family background - My last name means ‘oven in Polish’. So, if my first name was Bella , then I believe my full name would pretty much translate to ‘beautiful oven’
What's your favourite fun fact?.
I have a couple here; - The national animal of Scotland is officially a unicorn - A cow is more aerodynamic than a Jeep wrangler - In Switzerland, it is illegal to own only one Guinea pig
What do you like to do when you're not working?.
You might find me going for a coastal drive down to the beach, catching up on the latest TV show I’m loving, or going out for a coffee & brunch with friends! I like to stay active so enjoy doing home workouts, but also equally value my downtime which might include some mindful colouring, building a mini lego-kit, or (more often than not), hanging out with my two sweet cats
If there was person that you could meet, dead or alive, who would it be?
